Bled is located in the north-western part of Slovenia, at the foot of Julian Alps and at the confluence of the two sources of the river Sava. It is only 35 km from border crossings with Austria (Karavanke Tunnel) and 45 km from Italy (Ratece). Some other relevant distances:

Bled has a mild, healthy subalpine climate and no fog during the season.
The weather in September is mostly fine and usually very stable with
average temperatures around 18.
